Bumble Bee with a Pollen Basket

Kenosha Wisconsin

As I'm sure everyone is aware, the bee population is in a huge decline:
US beekeepers saw 42.1% of their honey bee colonies die off in 2014-2015, according to preliminary results of a US Department of Agriculture survey. Wild bees are also in trouble. In Europe, 9.2% of the continent’s almost 2,000 bee species are facing extinction, according to one assessment.
Honeybees and the other pollinators and the invaluable pollinating services they provide us with helped produce approximately $19 billion worth of agricultural crops in the U.S. alone in 2010; that’s estimated to be one-third of everything we eat!
